Shaun Weiss is an American actor who has appeared in films and on television. Born on August 27,1978, his family lived in Montvale, New Jersey and went to Pascack Hills High School. At the beginning of his career, his size made him the perfect choice for bulky athletic roles. It was his role as Goldburg the Goalie in The Mighty Ducks trilogy that landed him front and center on the big screen.

Early Life

Weiss' first role in a television series was on Pee-Wee's Playhouse where he played the character Elvis. Although he gained some visibility on Pee-Wee's Playhouse, his biggest windfall was in commercials. Over the first few years of his acting career, Weiss could be seen in over 30 television commercials and advertisements. He also got a role in a Pizza Hut commercial in which he played the catcher. The well-known commercial could be seen at the start of the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie.

The Mighty Ducks Trilogy

Weiss' most notable claim to fame came from his role in The Mighty Ducks movies. As the overly large and somewhat clumsy goalie, Weiss turned his character, Greg Goldburg, into one of the most popular characters in the movie. Originally, the part was to have been rather small, but Weiss worked at creating a character that kids could relate to. The result was Goldburg, the Goalie.

From 1990 to 1996, he played the role of Goldburg in the Mighty Ducks, each time adding a little something extra to the character. Goldburg's lovable, yet extremely sarcastic and sometimes lazy, character was a favorite of both children and adults. Goldburg was someone that most kids could relate to. He wasn't the best looking or even the most talented but he always looked for ways to have fun and encourage his teammates. Weiss' personification of the character made a lasting impression on many youngsters who grew up watching The Mighty Ducks movies.

In between shooting for The Mighty Ducks 2 and D3: The Mighty Ducks, Weiss played Josh Birnbaum in Heavyweights. Heavyweights was another of Disney's releases at the time. He also began to appear in television series at around the same time. His role as Sean on Freaks and Geeks was short-lived but memorable. He also played a small part in the series The King of Queens.

In addition to his movie and television appearances, Weiss began taking on roles in commercials once again. A few of his more memorable ones include commercials for Castrol, Captain Morgan, ESPN Mobile MVP, and Verizon Wireless. He had appearances in shows like Mr. Rhodes, The Tony Danza Show, Boy Meets World, and Family Law. One of his last movie roles was that of the bus driver in the movie Drillbit Taylor.

Arrests and Other Legal Issues

As with many young actors, Weiss began to experience a myriad of legal issues. Weiss has been charged with shoplifting and petty theft, just to name a few of the older charges. He was sentenced to over four months in jail as a result of the petty theft charge. He was released after only serving 12 days due to the excessive overcrowding in the Los Angeles jail where he was being held. Just a few days after he was released, he was arrested again, this time for possession of a controlled substance. For that charge, he received 90 days due to be spent in the Burbank jail. His latest arrest was for public intoxication and took place on August 3^rd, 2018.

After the final arrest, Weiss decided to enter himself into a rehab facility. It is unknown whether or not he followed through with his plans or if he has taken further steps to get back into acting.
