Percy Romeo Miller is a rap artist and entrepreneur from New Orleans. Born on August 19, 1989, Miller has also been referred to in the past as Lil Romeo. He is one of the most versatile of the young artist in the entertainment business. He began his career at the age of eleven and has kept moving forward since the very first day.
Music
Miller got his start in the music business through family ties. His parents (Master P and Sonya C, both rappers) and his uncles C-Murder and Silkk the Shocker all worked together to bring the young man's talents out as early as possible. By the time he was 12, he had released two albums, the first one containing the song “My Baby” which went platinum. The second album, Game Time, was also highly successful and put Romeo in the spotlight far enough that he was able to land his own television show Romeo. The series ran for about three years and was fairly successful. Romeo has released multiple albums and has collaborated with several of the biggest names in hip-hop and rap music.
In addition to his music, he has also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in the shows twelfth season. His dance partner was Chelsie Hightower. Although they were eliminated in the last weeks of the show, the couple made it into the Top 5. Another music-related show, Growing Up Hip Hop is also on his list of accomplishments. Growing Up Hip-Hop follows the lives of several young artists whose parents have made names for themselves in the rap and hip-hop music world. Romeo appears with his dad Master P and several of his close friends and family members.
Movies
Romeo's first attempt at acting came when he was cast in the movie Max Keeble's Big Move in 2001. He eventually went on to appear in Honey in 2003 and God's Gift in 2006. In addition to the series, Roneo, he has also appeared in a variety of guest roles on shows like The Defenders. He has also appeared in Jumping the Broom and The Choice. He also had the opportunity to appear in a 2017 film, Never Heard, in which he was able to share the credits with his father. His biggest movie to date, however, is Madea's Witness Protection in 2012.
Fashion Design and Modeling
Romeo has also stepped into the ring as a fashion designer. The College Boyys line of clothing was launched on July 24, 2010. Miller promotes the clothing line through his new group College Boyys and also has support from artists like Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber, and Big Time Rush, just to name a few. His goal for the clothing line is to teach young people that it is cool to be smart and pursuing their education can have a positive impact on their lives. He wants to provide the message that dressing for success will lead to success. The clothing line earned over $50 million in its first year in business. As of 2013, Romeo has announced that another clothing line is in the works. This one will be named ROME Everything.
What's Next?
While Romeo got his start at a very early age, the young man does not show any signs of slowing down. For every successful milestone he reaches, another seems to appear on the horizon. For all of his hard work, Romeo has earned very few awards. In the past, he has won a Kids' Choice Award and has been nominated for prestigious honors such as a Young Artist Award and a Black Reel Award. His continued success in almost every endeavor he pursues is sure to beef up his list of awards as time passes by.
