Born on May 2, 1977, in Danbury, Connecticut, Jenna Von Oy (Jennifer Jean Von Oy) started her acting career at a young age. Her first performances were in commercials and regional stage and theatre productions. Her first two attempts at real acting came in the form of guest roles on shows like Tales From the Darkside and episodes of ABC Weekend Specials. She also appeared for a short period of time on Kate & Allie and the sitcom Lenny that appeared on CBS. To of her biggest assets were her ability to speak French and her ability to speak incredibly fast. On the Blossom set, von Oy was always talking fast and trying to get the last word in,
Teen Hits
Her first major role was as the outgoing Six Lemeure on the hit teen show Blossom. She remained with the show from 1990 to 1996 until the series was shelved due to failing ratings. Shortly after leaving Blossom, she enrolled in the University of Southern California. She became a member of Kappa Alpha Theta for approximately two years. She eventually decided that college and sorority life was not all it was made up to be so she dropped out and began looking for roles and possible auditions. Her years as playing the saucy sidekick to Blossom's laid back character showed her versatility and eventually got her a few additional roles, even though they were small, bit parts.
Another teen hit came her way when she auditioned for a role in the television series, The Parkers. Her character, Stevie van Lowe was one of the main characters' best friends. While working on The Parkers, Von Oy offered her voice over talents for Trinket St. Blaire, a character on Pepper Ann. Pepper Ann was an animated series that was popular during that time period. When the Parkers ended, von Oy went on to appear in television movies as well as the series, Cold Case. She even took on a character on the series Family Guy. She portrayed Rory Gilmore on the Perfect Castaway episode.
Movie Roles
Over the years, she also appeared in several movie roles. She earned a role acting opposite Tom Cruise in the 1989 movie, Born on the Fourth of July. She then did a voice-over for the character of Stacey in the 1995 movie, A Goofy Movie. Next on her line of credits was Dr. Dolittle 3 in 2006. Over the span of her career, she appeared in numerous television series including Moesha, Chicago Hope, Saved by the Bell: The College Years, Martin, and Unhappily Ever After.
Country Music
As her acting career began to dwindle, von Oy turned her interests to another one of her passions. She had loved country music for as long as she could remember, so in June of 2000, she went into the studio and recorded her first demo CD. She distributed the CD to music agencies in the hopes of launching a country music career. On September 18, 2007, the album Breathing Room was released. Although none of the singles were hits, the CD was somewhat of a success. She spends her time between Connecticut, Nashville, Tennessee, and Los Angeles. Although her acting opportunities are slim, she continues to audition and is always looking for roles in which she can showcase her talents.
Personal life
Von Oy eventually returned to Newtown Connecticut and married Brad Bratcher, a computer consultant. The couple wed on October 10, 2010. The marriage produced two children. Their first daughter Gray, was born on May 21, 2012. Their second daughter, named Marlowe, was born on November 1, 2014. After a short marriage, the couple separated. Von Oy is now reported to be in a committed relationship with Kaleigh Barthaelemy.
